Finally, after a tiring and busy week, i have some time to blog.

Here i stand, at the crossroads of life. I stand at a point, at the end of one chapter of my life, and ponder about my future decisions. Atempo XVII and Beautiful Sunday is over. 10 years in band, and it will end here. I should not be playing for Sparks V unless situation calls for my presence. It is a tough step to make, crossing from this chapter to another.

Band had been an intruging part of my life. Since p3, bandmusic sounded through my years and time spent at band filled in the gaps in my life. It seems to be an inseparable part of me. My horn, 4 years on the Eb and another 6 on the french horn, had become one of my good friends. I learnt it, loved it and it never failed me. It gave me the happiness in life, one of the things i loved the most and took care of the most. I developed a kind of love for my horn, just like for S******. It seems very hard for other people to understand, why i have these kind of feelings right now here. Of course i do not wish to stop my band life, but situations called for it.

Just as i unwillingly end this chapter of my life, i begin to ponder, if i would ever open this chapter and continue it in the future. Time contraints and other piorities will soon be like creepers growing all over it until it becomes a sealed but forgotten memory in my mind. Band had been the piority of my life, or at least one of the top throughout my times in band.

Rv band life : sec 2 and 3 through 4, going to band everyday was like a habit to me, strolling from my classroom after lesson and going to the bandroom. I really enjoyed that. Band was top piority for me. Every performance i played with pride and confidence. When the applause came, i was happy and felt accomplished. Another event done, i usually say that to myself. 6 or 7 events a year is common for me in RV. Swinging from pieces to pieces and from repertioure to repertioure is so happening and exciting. Every performance is a new thing, thanks to Ms Chan's non-recycling policy. Though sometimes time constriants force us to repeat, but everything was as new as possible. Challenges came not from just the song, but the rapidly changing scores in my file. A file never last me a year, as scores will be stacked and stacked over each other till the pockets burst. I counted, at least 20 performances in my 4 years in rv. That was like wow. . . when i reflected. My batch was unlucky, because of the sars and 911. Destroyed alot of plans and stuff. But band life was great. The variety of pieces was also fun.

The company in band was part of its fun and enjoyability. Nice people, and my long lasting friends, mostly came from band. Of course my girlfriend included. The times we had spent together. That was fun. My batch people tolerated me, shared happiness with me and spent fruitful and fun times together. Those were part of my memory. Could not forget them. Band people in rv are very trained and disciplined. Respect for seniors were part of us since sec 1. We never talked back when the seniors scolded us. We listened and accepted punishment that were meted out to us. It made us very disciplined and organised. I liked that for it is shown to me that it creates good character. Band people are great. They have good character and attitude. It was nice being their friend. Haha although i dont know how they felt about me. Nevertheless, i remember my section mates the most, seniors and juniors. Talking to them, striving through the busy periods together. Striving hard to rush out a repertioure, last minute changes to songs, difficult parts and the SYF. Those were part of the fun times we had together. The usual dinner at JEC after a performance or even after band practise. It was all fun and happening. Life was great with band. I felt bored without band practises.

My seniors: Sherwyn, Jie Yi, Zhidong, Wee Kiat, Joanna, Wee Ann, Shijie, Kairu. Thanks for taking care of my throughout my years in rvcb.

My juniors: Wee Kiat, Yanling, Yilun, Chua Neng, Kaixin, Shermaine, Irene, Jolene, Yingying, Kaylene, Chee Hooi. Thanks for putting up with me sometimes and thanks for the great time you had given me. No matter what attitude you gave me last time, i think you all are great juniors. Work hard, for those still in band. For the rest, good luck in life =)
